Club President, Rtn. David Griffiths, presented the award to Peter on behalf of Rotary International and the club.

Peter, who was with his wife Jackie at the Rotary Club’s (Horwich) Annual Charter Night and Ladies Dinner at Rivington Hall Barn, said he was delighted to accept such a great Honour, which made him feel very proud to join such an illustrious body of Rotarians and thanked all present for their congratulations, support and good wishes and., it was good to receive it amongst so many ‘old and new’ friends.

Peter was born over 71 years ago in Scot Lane, Blackrod. In January 2000 he had an accident in which he broke his neck.

Following partial recovery, he moved back to the area in 2002 but he was resigned to life in a Wheelchair. He joined the Rotary Club of Horwich in September of that year and was President in 2011.
