Market Place, Bolton is hosting three days of free May Half Term fun for families, with the latest in their calendar of fabulous events.

The ‘Science Spectacular’ takes place from Thursday 31st May – Saturday 2nd June and will have families fizzing, bubbling and blasting off into half term with interactive workshops, experiments and family-friendly entertainment.

The event includes three awesome 30 minute shows each day, hosted by a pair of mad scientists who will lead the audience through a series of exciting experiments with fizzing potions, bubbling concoctions, giant smoke rings, scientific magic, and experimental sweet-making.

There will also be a 15-minute ‘Climate Chaos’ show with lightning, electrifying science experiments centred around the environment and interactive tornado races which are ideal for little whirlwinds.

Children will also get to learn the science of slime in free workshops throughout the day, where they will make their very own sample to take home and then they can go on a trail around Market Place, to seek out scientific discoveries and earn a tasty reward!

All activity is designed to bring the magic of science to life, inspiring and exciting all who participate and make it accessible to all. Each child who attends will be given a rocket toy to take away.

Nikki Wilson-Cook, Centre Manager, Market Place said: “We know how hard it can be to keep young children entertained during school holidays, so we’re really pleased to provide families with some welcome entertainment during the half-term break. We really hope families enjoy our event as much as we’ve enjoyed putting it together!”
