At 12.58pm on Sunday June 10th 2018 police were called to reports of a collision between a cyclist and a light blue Nissan Micra on Lever Park Avenue in Horwich.

A 35-year-old woman, the driver of the car, was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

PC Philip Shaw from GMP’s serious Collision Investigation unit said: “My thoughts are with the man and his family, this is a heart breaking incident, the man was out on his bike, enjoying the great weather - what has happened is devastating.

“We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have seen the car before it collided with the cyclist.

“We would particularly like to hear from anyone with dash-cam footage.”
