Members of ‘Horwich Widows Club’ have invited the Town Mayor of Horwich to an Afternoon Tea Party on August 8th to celebrate their 30th anniversary.
After originally starting off as a social and support group for widowed ladies, the group is now planning to broaden its membership to welcome non widowed ladies and to reflect this the group is changing its name to the ‘Horwich Ladies’ Over 50s Club’.
The group meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 1.45 until 3.45pm at Horwich Community Centre and activities include regular speakers, trips out, quizzes, bingo and afternoon refreshments
If you are interested in joining the group or just want to find out more you will be very welcome to come along to the group’s ‘Open Afternoon’ on Wednesday September 26th when you can meet the other members and see what the group does. The Club is also hoping to recruit a new Secretary and Treasurer.
