Your chance to see Horwich Neighburhood Plan

People in Horwich can have their say on what they would like to see for the future of Horwich on Saturday 21st July.

From 10am to 1pm at Horwich Heritage Centre on Beaumont Road in Horwich there will be a Consultation Carousel where current members of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group can explain more about the Plan and what it can do for Horwich.

Marie Brady, chair of the Steering Group said: “We want to hear from the people of Horwich to tell us what they think is important so that Horwich continues to be a vibrant, caring and attractive place to live, work and play.”

The event will have eight themes so that there will be plenty to comment on and space for everyone to have their say or to find out more about how to get involved.

The comments from this event, from the one in May and from more consultation over the next few months will result in a draft Neighbourhood Plan to set out the priorities for the people of Horwich in terms of housing, transport, facilities, green space and much more on a sustainable basis for the next 30 years and more. Marie said: “The plan will be your plan, for a town with a proud heritage and a prosperous future to look forward to”.

Once the plan is approved there will be a public vote for Horwich residents to decide if they want to accept it as the blueprint for the future. It is a very democratic process, with an emphasis on consulting anyone who lives, works and plays in Horwich.
