Saturday 22nd September

‘A’ Meet at Aldi car park BL1 4HJ at 9.00. Walk starts from the large lay-by on the A56 about 1.5 miles after Thornton-in-Craven and just past the road on the right to Elslack. ‘B’ - WIGAN GREAT HEART – Bus and cars to Morrisons car park (No parking restrictions) Ince WN2 2PR  for 10.30 start. Top Lock, Haigh Hall, Sinclair Lane, Tow Path, Kirklas/Ince. 9 miles. Peter Gaskell

‘C’ - WORTHINGTON LAKES – Meet at Vicarage Road car park,  Blackrod.        BL6 5TA  for 10.15 for transport to the Tree Barn, Blundell Lane.  BL6 5LP .  Walk starts there at 10.30. Blackrod Bottoms, Crawshaw Hall, Worthington Lakes, Arley Hall, Blackrod. 6 miles. Edna Barlow

Wednesday 26th September

1) – BENTLEY HALL – Meet at Ainsworth Recreation Ground BL2 5SQ for 10.30 start. Park near the Duke William pub in Well Street, then meet on the nearby track. Walshaw, Bolholt, Tottington, Old Kays, Bowstone Hill, Bentley Hall, Knowsley. 8.5 miles. Peter Murray

2) – BUNGALOW GROUNDS – Meet in Lever Park Ave BL6 7JU for 10.30 start. Rivington School, Bungalow Grounds, Pigeon Tower, Rivington, Dean Brook, Overflow Steps, Street Drive, Fisherman's Walk, Dryfield Lane. 8 miles. Julia Watmough

3) – KIRKLEES TRAIL – (10.15) Meet at St Anne's Church, Tottington. BL8 3NH  Cars park in Royd Street, by the side of the churchyard for 10.30 start. Kirklees Trail to Burrs via the new Lottery Bridge, Summerseat Cricket Ground, Tower Farm, Tottington. 6 miles. Keith & Frances Sandeford

Wednesday number ‘1’ and ‘2’ walks are approx. 8-9 miles and of similar standard. Number ‘3’ walks are approximately 6 miles, are easier and at a slower pace. In some cases, post codes are nearest to start point.
Saturday ‘A’ walks are approximately 12 miles, ’B’ are approximately 9 miles and ‘C’ are approximately 6 miles.
