Seven arrested in connection with report of child exploitation released

Seven people arrested in connection with a report of child sexual exploitation in Bolton have been released under investigation.

On Tuesday 19 June 2018, police received a report that a teenage girl had been groomed and raped by a number of men since March 2016 in Blackrod.

Six men aged 18, 18, 28, 25, 21, 29 and one boy aged 17 were arrested on suspicion of rape and were released on bail pending further enquiries.

They have now been released under investigation.

The investigating team are continuing to interview further witnesses and establish whether there are further victims and/or offenders who need to be traced.
