Final leg of Bolton Boundary Walk

23 Oct 2018 08:34

Bolton Ramblers embark on the seventh and final leg of the 50th Anniversary Bolton Boundary Walk on Sunday, October 28th.

Meet at 10am at Ringley Old Bridge, Kearsley Hall Road, M26 1FT.

This is a circular walk of 12.5 miles.  In its early stage, it flirts with the motorway, at one point taking a footbridge across 13 lanes!

It then passes through quiet countryside in Blackleach Country Park and along the Salford Trail to the former Brackley Municipal golf course.

Crossing back under the motorway, the walk skirts Highfield and passes through Farnworth Park before descending to the River Irwell.

It then follows quiet tracks and paths, through woods and open countryside back to Ringley.

The walk is free and there is no need to book.  Just turn up with suitable walking gear and a packed lunch.
