Market Place, Bolton is excited to invite customers to view their first ever hologram, which has been installed in the centre for the duration of the festive period, in addition to brand new stunning Christmas decorations.

The hologram, which sees Santa spreading some festive cheer, will provide families with some extra special entertainment on their shopping trip. The hologram is completely free for customers to enjoy and is located on the upper floor of the centre, near to JD Sports.

This festive period in particular the centre is putting on some show-stopping entertainment for the whole family, including hosting a variety of free kids’ workshops. On 8th & 9th December kids can enjoy some Mary Poppins themed fun and storytelling ahead of the new film release on 21 December. A Mary Poppins costumed character will help children create wall art which they can keep and will tell them wonderful festive stories – she’ll also be able to take a selfie or two!

Then on 15th & 16th December, kids can learn how to be one of Santa’s little helpers at the centre’s Elf School. Here they will undertake very important jobs like toy testing, present wrapping and cookie decorating. They’ll even learn the Merry Elf Dance! Then on 22nd & 23rd December the little ones will be able to take a virtual reality sleigh ride. Children can find out what it takes to sit in Santa’s sleigh and deliver presents when they sit back in a prop sleigh, put on the VR goggles and enter the world of Santa Claus and his elves.

In addition children aged 3-8 years old can enjoy the chance to eat breakfast or tea with Santa on selected dates in December. Tickets are just £6 and include breakfast or tea, a gift from Santa and entertainment from a magician. Santa will be taking breakfast in Costa from 9.30am – 10.30am on Sundays 16th and 23rd December and tea at Debenhams from 5pm – 6pm on Thursdays 13th and 20th December. Tickets are available from the Centre Management Suite on the third floor of the Centre.

Nikki Wilson-Cook, Centre Manager, Market Place says, “This Christmas we wanted to add an extra special element to customers’ shopping experience here at Market Place. Along with the centre’s decorations and jam packed event programme, the hologram is something that brings a touch of ‘magic’ for the little ones and embraces the digital age, while harnessing tradition, so we can’t wait to see our customers enjoying it.”
