Market Place in Bolton is pleased to announce the opening of Waffle Up at the centre. Waffle Up is an eat-in or takeaway Artisan Café, based on Knowsley Street on the outside of the centre. Whether customers want to sit and relax or take a delicious treat away with them, the café offers the perfect place to meet for a coffee, bring the family, brunch in style or pick up a quick lunch.

Waffle Up is the brainchild of childhood friends, Owais and Zamir Patel and has a unique menu, exclusive to Bolton. The two friends are products of the town, who have recently decided to become entrepreneurs, having previously gained experience in small and big business. Owais is a fully qualified Chef, with 20 years’ experience in the food industry, while Zamir has worked in the IT industry for over 15 years, but always had a passion for food.

The opportunity to develop a new business at Market Place, Bolton, was introduced to the two friends in early November 2018, and the business has developed from a small acorn in a matter of weeks.

Customers can indulge themselves with their distinctive and delicious savoury and sweet #WaffleUpCreations, including tempting fillings such as traditional Swiss ice cream in a variety of mouth-watering flavours. All waffles are made fresh to order, using locally sourced ingredients, with a selection of locally produced individual hand-crafted cakes and pies, adding to the attractions on the menu.

Waffle Up is open Monday to Thursday between 8am - 5pm, Friday to Saturday between 8am - 8pm and Sunday between 11am - 5pm.

Nikki Wilson-Cook, Centre Manager, Market Place says, “We’re pleased to welcome Waffle Up in time for the Christmas break. The café adds to the diverse choice of food and drink already on offer at the centre, offering customers the perfect place to relax with a sweet (or savoury) treat on their festive trip into Bolton.”
