Join the Ramblers on Saturday, February 2nd when they travel by coach to the Peak District.

There will be 3 walks on offer, one of 11.5 miles, one of 9 miles and one of 5.  The longer walks start in Castleton, initially following the Limestone Way round the base of the ruins of Peveril Castle.  They then cross open moorland and stone-walled fields over countryside pockmarked with the remains of old lead and copper mines and through attractive small villages, finally arriving in the fascinating village of Eyam.

The shorter walk centres on Eyam, allowing time to explore the village with its heroic story of self-imposed isolation when stricken by the plague between 1665 and 1666.

The coach will leave Chequerbent Roundabout on the A6, Westhoughton at 07.45am and outside the Lads & Girls Club on Spa Road, Bolton at 08.00am.  Seats cost £14.00pp.
