Double accolade for operatic group

A theatrical society has picked up two accolades at a regional awards night.

The Three Towns Operatic Society has picked up two accolades at the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) North West Regional Awards in Bolton.

The society won The Best Concert of 2018 and Best Programme for their production of Orpheus in the Underworld, which took place at St Joseph’s Hall in Leigh in May.

The production received a total of nine nominations David Kay was nominated for the Shining Star Talent Award in his role of directing and playing the acting role of Mercury.

The Three Towns, who are celebrating their 50th birthday, are now rehearsing for their upcoming show The Mikado which takes place at St Joseph’s Hall, Leigh from May 14 to 18.
