FEBRUARY

Monday 11th - Myself and the Mayoress officially re-opened Ye Jolly Crofters pub and had the opportunity to sample their cask ales. I pulled the first pint. Nice that they allow dogs inside the pub.

Thursday 14th - I attended the Grand Re-opening of AgeUK by cutting the ribbon and saying a few words. Afterwards I also enjoyed a glass of non-alcoholic Presecco with the staff.

Saturday 16th - This is an event that I attend each year but this year I attended as Mayor. The Annual Brunch at the Parish Hall, held in aid of Horwich & Rivington Team Namibia Link.

Sunday 17th - Each month I go litter picking with volunteers of the Horwich First Community Litter Pickers. I attend every month.

Monday 25th - I attended the PACT meeting at Brazely Community Centre. There was a good turn out and lots of questions for the Police.

MARCH

Friday 1st - I was invited to attend the World Day of Prayer Service organised by the Women of Churches Together in Horwich and Rivington at Rivington Parish Church. This year’s service was prepared by 'Christian Women of Slovenia'. Afterwards we had a cup of tea and sampled some Slovenian honey biscuits that tasted really good.

Tuesday 5th - This was our meeting of the St Elizabeth's Events Team, Group Members meet up each month in the Church Hall and discuss what fundraisers we can organise for St Elizabeth's Church and the larger Horwich community.

Saturday 9th - I went to St Elizabeth's Church Hall for their 'Quiz Night 2019'. We were in teams of six, our team came in fourth place. Not too embarrassing.

Saturday 16th - Is an important date for Horwich Loco historians as I will be opening the 'Horwich Exhibition' celebrating the 130th Birthday of the 1008 Horwich's own Steam Locomotive. To be held at Horwich Heritage Centre from 10am to 1pm.

Tuesday 19th - I attend the Kildonan Patients Forum that meets every three months upstairs in the Kildonan House Practice. We are a group of volunteers made up of patients of Kildonan House.

Every Monday and Thursday evening I attend the new running group set up in Horwich by Sam Ormrod.

My Mayor's Charities that I am fundraising for this year are:

Horwich Widows

Horwich Visiting Service

MhIST (Mental Health Independent Support Team).

I have also raised funds for a wide selection on local community groups.
