LITTLE Ava Sutcliffe may only be five-years-old, but her fundraising efforts for her local children’s charity are huge!

The Beech Hill pupil ran the Family Mile race at this weekend’s Wigan 5k and raised £440 for Derian House Children’s Hospice in Chorley.

Not only did she run the whole way round, she also achieved her personal best time of 12 minutes 13 seconds.

Dad Rob Sutcliffe, 42, said: “We’re very proud of Ava. She did brilliant and loved every minute of it.

“The idea to run for Derian House came after we visited their Winter Sparkle event last year. Ava decided she wanted to run with me and said she wanted to do it to raise money for

poorly children.”

Rob ran the 5k section of the race, then joined Ava for the mile-long family race.

He added: “Derian House is a charity that’s always stuck with me as I know that, although hopefully we will never need Derian’s services, it’s good to know it’s there if we ever did.

Ava started a Just Giving page with a goal of raising £75, which she smashed after proving to be a social media sensation with her adorable training videos.
