A short term breaks service for disabled people in Bolton has received glowing reports from the regulator CQC (Care Quality Commission).

Mere Hall View, provided by Bolton Cares, is a respite care centre for people with learning, physical and sensory disabilities.

The service offers short term breaks for up to seven people with disabilities at any one time.

The service was not only rated ‘Good’ overall but also ‘Good’ in every area of the CQC essential standards: safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led.

CQC found that ‘The Registered Manager and staff team were dedicated to providing care and support of a high standard to ensure guests had a pleasurable stay at Mere Hall View’.

The inspection found that people’s care, treatment and support achieved good outcomes and promoted a good quality of life for the supported people.

The service was also found to be caring, with evidence that the service involved the people they support and people were treated with kindness, dignity and respect; involved as partners in their care.

Chief Executive of Bolton Cares, John Livesey, said: “I am very proud of the team at Mere Hall View. They work hard to deliver a high-quality service and this good inspection report would simply not be possible without them. What is particularly pleasing is that not only was the service rated as ‘good’ overall by the CQC, it was also all judged to be good in every inspection category.”
