At around 12.25am this morning (Wednesday 22 January 2020) police began pursuit of a suspected stolen VW Golf that failed to stop for officers on Loxham Street, Moses Gate, Bolton.
After a short distance, the car was found to have collided with wooden fencing and become partially submerged in water after sliding down an embankment.
Emergency services attended and, following a search of the area, four boys aged between 13 and 16 were detained and taken to hospital for assessment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Enquiries are ongoing.
No arrests have been made at this stage of the investigation.
