Public buildings may be closed due to the Covid-19 outbreak but you can still access free eBooks, eAudio books and eMagazines with the At Home with Bolton Library and Museum Services. If you're not a member you can also join online at www.boltonlams.co.uk/

The service provides themed online activities with art, hope and reading and there's images, videos, quizzes and interactive posts and resources to help with home-schooling, learning new skills and expanding your knowledge or just finding out the latest research and information.

Stories At Home are also a hit with babies and toddlers with the service's virtual version of hugely popular Arty Babies and Toddler Tales which is streamed live on Facebook every Friday at 11am.

The next session on Friday 1 May celebrates the magic of bedtime stories by joining in Pyjamarama. - so get your pyjamas on on and enjoy the fun storytime session!

Children have already heard magical stories including; We're Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen; Shark in the Park by Nick Sharratt; and The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson.

The super stories are brought to life by Shasha from Bolton's Library and Museum Service and reading is at the heart of this, encouraging children to develop their skills.

Storytelling sessions are made as interactive and engaging as possible with Facebook live allowing real time two way chats and decorations, dressing up and using props are all part of the activities which Shasha and the children make beforehand.

In the run up to The Gruffalo story on Friday 24 April children made their own mouse ears to wear during reading.

Deputy Leader of Bolton Council, Cllr Martyn Cox said: "People must stick to the official Covid-19 guidelines as much as possible as it is making a real difference to saving lives."

"Staying at home for long periods is especially challenging for families with energetic young children and older and vulnerable people who may be suffering from isolation and loneliness."

"Thankfully, At Home with Bolton Libraries and Museums provides a fantastic range or online resources to help keep all the family entertained."

"This is just one of many things Bolton Council are doing to make life easier during these difficult times which detailed at www.bolton.gov.uk "
