WESTHOUGHTON have made a solid start to their Anthony Axford Bolton Cricket League campaign.

With the delayed season finally up and running they sat in fourth place in the table after three games, with 15 points.

That includes a four-wicket win against Farnworth Social Circle, with Sohaib Shah hitting an unbeaten 49 as they chased down a 116 target.

Horwich sat one place below them in the table after bouncing back from a heavy defeat at the hands of defending champions Walkden with victory over Lostock.

They were dismissed for just 45 by early table toppers Walkden with Josh Little the only batsman to make it into double figures.

Faring better against Lostock, opener Joe Baldwin hit an unbeaten half century in a winning run chase.

Rob Holgate also made 50 as Lostock posted 127-6, but that was to prove not enough as Horwich recorded a six-wicket victory.
