THE organisers of Chorley Live have cancelled this year's event as a result of the coronavirus crisis but the entertainment can still be enjoyed from the comfort of your living room.

The award-winning two nights of live entertainment in October will not take place until 2021.

Nigel Stewart, of the Creative Network, who created the concept for the event, said: "While we won't be hosting the event in person, we're going to stream a number of performances live through the Chorley Live Facebook page.
"This will help to raise the profile of the acts, who have had a really hard time during lockdown, and mean people can enjoy the entertainment from their living room.

"While I know it's difficult for everyone at the moment you can bet that we'll be back for one hell of a party next October."

People can watch the free ‘living room live' event by tuning into the Chorley Live Facebook page over the weekend of October 2 and 3,
Peter Wilson, deputy leader of Chorley Council, said: "We know how popular Chorley Live is and given the restrictions we've had over the last few months it would be brilliant if we could host the event safely to give people an enjoyable night out that puts a smile on people's faces.

"But we have to be realistic and it would be impossible to host an event at the current time that would be anything like the experience we have at Chorley Live and be able to ensure people's safety."
