GENEROUS staff and students at the University of Bolton have raised £1,700 for Bolton Hospice.

They donated money collected from £1 meals sold to students during Covid-19 lockdown restrictions over the winter months.

Catering staff prepared hundreds of healthy meals for students, subsidised by the university. All the money collected has been donated to the hospice.

Last November, the university donated £700 to the hospice, which was also raised from selling subsidised meals to students.

The university’s head Chef Darren Booth handed over the latest cheque for £1,700 to Bolton Hospice’s director of income generation and communications, Alice Atkinson.
