Market Place in Bolton is thrilled to announce that alongside their partner Westgrove Group, will be having a centre charity takeover day on 15th June to raise funds for Bolton Hospice. Activity will take place throughout the day, gearing up to the infamous Bolton Midnight Memories Walk in the evening.

On the day all staff at Market Place will be wearing pink and pink food products, including sweet and savoury treats, will be made by staff and sold onsite, with all funds going to Bolton Hospice. Market Place has also arranged for face-painters to be on-site to transform customers into their desired look – they are just encouraged to give a donation.

Market Place tenants have also been extremely generous and every single tenant donated a prize that will be up for grabs in the centre’s raffle, which will be located underneath Pandora’s Bridge in the centre. The raffle will start at 11am and will run until the walk starts and anyone is welcome to buy a raffle ticket – all proceeds will be given to Bolton Hospice.

The walk, now in its 13th year, will start at 10pm on 15th June from Market Place and follows an 8 mile course, passing the hospice along the way. The event offers the perfect opportunity to walk in memory of a loved one, as a survivor of a life-limiting illness, or simply to support the Hospice. Once back at Market Place, walkers will be able to celebrate with a well-deserved medal and can take time to reflect on the personal meaning of the event for themselves, family and friends.

All funds raised will help Bolton Hospice provide free expert care and support for local people with terminal and life-limiting illnesses.

Nikki Wilson-Cook, Centre Manager, Market Place says, “Bolton Hospice is a very special charity close to the hearts of many Boltonians. We’re pleased to be able to support this year’s Midnight Memories Walk in such a varied way and touched that all of our tenants have got behind the initiative – the 15th June is going to be a very special day for us and we really hope the most money ever is raised – please everyone dig deep!”
