Forthcoming walks with Bolton CHA Rambling club

Bolton C.H.A. Rambling club invite you to come and join us on Wednesdays and Saturdays;

 

Saturday 14th September

 

COACH TRIP - GRASMERE

Although a members' trip there may be places available on the coach on the day. Please contact the club via one of the phone numbers below

 

Meet at Bolton Interchange BL2 1BE (Bus stand G) for 8.30 start.'A' - Ambleside, Loughrigg Fell, Silver How, Blearigg, Grasmere.10.5 mountain walk with 2685 feet of ascent. 

 

'B' -  Loughrigg Tarn, huh High Close, Rydale Cave, Alcock Tarn (possible Heron Pike instead of Alcock Tarn), Grasmere.9 miles and some rough terrain.

 

'C' - The coffin trail, White Moss Common, Grasmere Water, Red Bank Wood, Loughrigg Terrace, Rydal Water and Park, and bus back to Grasmere.  Bring your bus passes.  A moderate walk with a few ups and downs.5-6 miles approx.

 

Wednesday 18th September

 

1) WITTON WEAVERS WAY - Meet in Dimple Road by The Ciao Baby restaurant, BL7 9PR for 10.30 start. Turton Heights West, Whewells, Green Lowe, Higher Pastures Barn, Stones Bank. 8.5 miles.

 

2) HOLE IN ONE - Meet at Batridge Road CP (NOT the one signposted Battridge

Barn) BL7 0NF for 10.30 start. Clough House, Torra Barn, Turton Golf Club (CH), Witton Weavers Way, Rotary Way, Turton Bottoms, Wayoh West. 8 miles.

 

3) HOLLINGWORTH LAKE - Meet at Bolton Interchange Station BL2 1BE  at 9.30 for 9.45 (check times with leader) train to Littleborough Station for 10.45 start. (bus passes required). Rochdale Canal, Ealees Valley, Golf Course, High Hollins, Rakewood. 6.5 miles.

Wednesday number '1' and '2' walks are approx. 8-9 miles but number '2' walks are at a slower pace. Number '3' walks are approximately 6 miles, are easier and at a slower pace, slill. In some cases, post codes are nearest to start point.

 

 

Saturday 'A' walks are approximately 12 miles, 'B' are approximately 9 miles and 'C' are approximately 6 miles.
