After their success at last years elections they are seeking to add two more Councillors to represent residents at Bolton Council.

David Grant, HBFI candidate for Horwich & Blackrod.

David already represents residents at Horwich Town Council for Vale Ward.  He’s a proud stay-at-home dad with a background in the financial industry. David is married to Kathryn who is a GP, they have 2 boys aged 7 & 4 who attend Blackrod Primary School and play days nursery.

David said; “I am passionate about the future of our two great historic towns, I believe in positive action, being a strong clear voice for those that feel they have none and above all seeing through to the end that which we as a party and I individually set out to achieve is accomplished. It’s clear to me if we are to push forward for the benefit of our two proud towns our message needs to be louder, our presence felt even more and the sway of council leadership kept firmly on the balancing scales of the independent groups such as ours”.

Ryan Bamforth, HBFI candidate for Horwich Northeast.

At age of 16, Ryan pursued a career within the British Army.  During his 20 year career he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant within the REME specialising as an instructor, discipline Sergeant, recruiter, casualty notification & visiting officer, and facilities management. Ryan also completed several tours including Iraq, Afghanistan and later on Northern Ireland.

After leaving the British Army, Ryan came to live in Horwich with his partner Jillian. Their love of dogs resulted in Ryan setting up a dog grooming business after passing his City and Guilds and International Certified Master Groomer qualifications in August 2017 - A far cry from his exploits in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Ryan said: “I believe given the opportunity I would be an independent voice representing the interests of the local community to make a positive change. This is something I was able to do throughout my military career for numerous soldiers along both their careers and personal lives by being both an ear and voice on their behalf.’
