The Amazon Bolton team has made a £1,000 donation to a local charity in the town.

Bolton Impact Trust Youth Challenge is a school for pupils who require non-traditional learning environments. The organisation provides a personalised learning programme that pupils can attend either, full or part time basis.

Bolton Impact Trust Youth Challenge will use the donation to purchase technology, which children can use to complete schoolwork when learning remotely.

Nicolas Verdon, Site Leader at Amazon in Bolton, said:

“The staff at Bolton Impact Trust ensure all children have the resources and mentors required for a good education. We are pleased to support the team’s efforts with this donation and hope it helps them continue their great work.”

Jill Penfold from Bolton Impact Trust Youth Challenge added:

“We are grateful to receive this donation from Amazon which has allowed us to purchase Kindle devices that are a great benefit to the children’s education, especially when pupils are taking part in virtual lessons. Many thanks again to Nicolas and his team.”

This donation was received as part of the “Amazon in the Community” programme, whereby the company supports the communities around its operating locations across the UK.

Community donations is one of a number of ways in which Amazon is supporting communities across the UK during COVID-19.

Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering over 2 million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
