Bolton to benefit from British storage trend with new facility

What’s the strangest thing you might hide in a storage facility?

Forget cardboard boxes and unused exercise equipment, more exotic treasures found include 250 unreleased Michael Jackson songs, and an actual pirate hoard of doubloons and silver dollars.

One enterprising individual even tried to store working beehives, whose inhabitants attacked unlucky visitors when the unit was opened!

Managers at SureStore are keeping tight-lipped about any treasure they’ve guarded, but promise their secure manned sites and 24/7 CCTV will prevent any unwelcome intruders (including stinging ones!) as they expand into the North-West.

Opening early Spring 2018 on Orlando Street, just off Manchester Road, in Bolton, SureStore was founded back in 2007.  With over 20 years’ combined storage experience, and an appointment on the Board of the Self-Storage Association UK, their expertise is recognised and sought throughout the UK storage network.

Mike Wilson, SureStore’s CEO, describes; “The way we live now means more people are discovering the benefits of flexible storage.

"Whether freeing up a spare room to create a nursery or home-working office, temporary storage when moving home, or safe, secure storage for antiques and valuables, the storage facility has developed beyond all recognition.

"No longer just a boxroom-away-from-home, people are maximising their storage unit, sometimes utilising it daily as a stockroom for their business, an eBay seller hub, or dry, comfortable storage for researching fragile archive material.

"Having a cost-effective unit closer to where you live and accessible 7 days a week makes more options much easier.”

According to a recent survey, Britons now rent four times more storage than the French, and a whopping nine times more than people in Germany.

This has seen SureStore’s fully flexible, customer-driven storage solutions in high demand, leading to expansion first into Bolton, with further facilities following in Cannock and Burton on Trent.

But their brand-new Bolton facility will bring more benefits to the area than just being able to clear that spare room, as Mike explains; “With onsite staff to provide secure managed storage, we’ll be providing jobs in the local area.

"And with more people using storage units to turn self-employed, from a few square feet for an online seller to a large commercial unit for storing trade stock, all these local businesses support and benefit the local economy, too.”
