BOLTON School Boys’ Division Year 11 pupil Paul Foster has been selected for the Independent Schools’ Football Association U16 National Team.
He was one of six Bolton School pupils to be sent to the North trials, and was eventually chosen to captain the team.
After playing three matches against Bury Grammar School, Preston North End and Oldham Athletic, the North team clashed with the corresponding ISFA South side.
With the ISFA national team managers looking on, there was all to play for in this tough match.
Despite the North team’s 3-1 loss, Paul was one of four Northern players selected for the national ISFA U16 Representative Team.
On December 16, Paul will join up with the rest of the ISFA U16s at St George’s Park, the England team’s training ground, for the U16 Representative Camp.
The boys will take part in two days of intensive training and matches against Ipswich and Leicester City football clubs.
The team also has matches lined up early next year against Everton and Millwall, and the U16 will also go on tour in April.
