Horwich-based Amanda Fairclough Stage and Film School is going from strength to strength.
Her latest production ‘The Truth Is Out There Scrooge’ – a modern twist on A Christmas Carol with FBI agent solving the strange goings in on the dark - was a sell-out success in December.
Not only do her students attend weekly classes to hone their acting and performance skills they are also represented by Amanda’s actor’s agency ‘AFA Management’ gaining roles in Commercials, TV and Film.
One young actor Freya Cowan has just gained her 1st IMDB (International Movie Data Base) credit working with Signature Pictures featuring in the Film ‘When I Grow Up’.
Brothers Tyler and Rhys Cowie are becoming regulars on our screens in a number of commercials, latest being Asda Starwars, Caledonian Travel and National Holidays.
And young Olivia Laidlaw is the face of the Chill Factore commercials.
These students beat off hundreds of hopeful youngsters and Amanda is very proud of their achievements.
Amanda opened the agency just under 3 years ago representing adults and children for work in the performance industry.
The business grew quickly and with her assistant Toni Collard also from Horwich Bolton the ladies make a great team.
Amanda said: “The agency AFA Management is a great success but children wanting to be professional actors need to develop a tough skin as there’s a lot of rejection.
“I advise children to have fun with acting, learning the skills, building confidence, exploring and developing drama and text.
“But, if they are determined they want to be a professional actor I also support and encourage that too.”
