Thirty members and guests braved the awful weather to attend the February meeting of Heath Charnock WI's and they enjoyed a talk by Peter Rimmer entitled 'The Tide is the Very Devil' about the treacherous sands of Morecambe Bay and the shrimp fishermen who work there.

Peter has produced a book with the same title showing wonderful pictures of Morcecambe Bay.

In addition to his talk Peter did a slide show of his pictures.

Part of his photographic project is about a family of shrimp fishermen who work on the Bay, showing their life and work and how they compare with their fathers and grandfathers times.

Peter talked about the dangers of walking and travelling across Morecambe Bay and showed some of the guides who take walkers across.

The competition of a Seashore in any medium was won by Caroline Hesketh with Diane Glithero in second place.

At their March meeting Heath Charnock WI will have a talk and demonstration by Sharon Bromley about Lampshade Making.
