Members of Heath Charnock WI and their visitors had a very curious evening at their May meeting.
Fiona Smithson was the speaker and she presented the meeting with 50 unusual items that were used in the past by parents and grandparents.
The items ranged from farm equipment to everyday house hold items used in days gone by, from the beautifully decorative to the weird and wonderful.
The talk certainly lived up to its title of 'Curiosity Corner'.
Each table was provided with a tub containing an assortment of objects and the ladies were given 6 minutes with each box to write down what they thought the items were.
There was lots of scratching of heads and giggles. It was a wonderful history lesson about bygone times. Great fun and and educational evening thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
The June meeting takes place on 13th June and is the institutes Birthday Meeting. Visitors are welcome.
