The people of Horwich and Bolton were able to witness contestants from Ironman UK race through the town in an attempt to claim victory at the finishing line in Bolton Town Centre.
The contestants first had to complete a lake swim in Pennington Flash, a 112 mile cycle race and running race through Queens park. The route needed changing due to the unfortunate moor fires, but that didn't hold contestants back.
Crowds came out on Chorley New Road to enjoy the race and support each contestant taking part. The overall winners were Lucy Gossage and Joe Skipper, but each contestant having completed the triathlon will have felt like a winner too!
