Fundraisers have handed over more that £1,400 to The Firefighters’ Charity and the Bolton Mountain Rescue team to thank them for their incredible efforts battle the Winter Hill fires this summer

Peter Ravald from Horwich raised money by designing and selling charity umbrella photos while Phil Grimshaw and Andrew Zachary Birchall hosted an event at the RMI club.

"A massive well done to all of you who purchased one of my charity umbrella photos, you raised a mega £768,” said Peter.

“Also a massive well done to Phil Grimshaw and Andrew Zachary Birchall who hosted an event at the RMI club which raised an amazing £700.00!!!

“We decided to pool the money together adding up to £1,468.00 and divide that to give half to The Firefighters Charity and half to The Bolton Mountain Rescue team.

“Once again we can't thank you all enough for digging deep into you pockets to support these worthy causes."

They are pictured outside Horwich fire station with some of those who worked tirelessly up on the moors to save our countryside.
