World Blood Donor Day (WBDD) serves to share the message that giving blood saves lives and Chris Green MP donated blood to show his support for this important campaign.
Every few seconds, someone, somewhere, needs blood and this year’s World Blood Donor Day, taking place on 14th June 2019, hopes to raise awareness of the significance of blood donation and increase the number of blood donors.
Speaking about the campaign, Mr Green said: “Contrary to popular belief, blood donation is quick, easy and simple and we should all do our best to donate when we can and if we can.
“This is why I’m supporting this year’s World Blood Donor Day and if you would like to give blood, please visit the NHS blood donation website and check where your nearest blood donation centre is.”
