Chris Green MP has praised the recently announced £20 million government scheme to support small and medium sized manufacturing businesses with the latest digital technology.

The Made Smarter North West Pilot Scheme, launched in January of this year, will provide access to specialist techology advice, grants for the latest equipment and a leadership programme on how technology can improve company competetiveness and productivity.

A funded student placement will also be available to eligible manufacturing companies to aid the introduction of their new technology strategy.

Speaking about the exciting pilot scheme, Mr Green said “ New technologies can greatly benefit manufacturing businesses, which is why it’s so good to see the government support small and medium sized businesses in accessing this technology, especially those in the North West.

“If any manufacturing business owners believe that they are eligible for this scheme, I encourage them to take a look at the Made Smarter website and to also consider applying.
