EVERY possible way to save the planet – from reducing water usage to making soap with home-grown flowers - is on offer at an Eco Fair in Blackrod next month.

Keen environmental campaigner Marie Hurst, who lives in the village, has organised the free event at Blackrod County Primary School on Saturday, October 5 from 3pm.

Stalls are also free and Marie is keen to hear from more people who have eco friendly businesses, hobbies or advice to come along and share their knowledge, skills and products.

Said Marie: “I wanted to bring all these separate ideas together into one fair to help us all be more aware of what we can do to help this precious, unique planet survive and help curb our over-consumption of its finite resources.”

Already coming to the first event of its kind in the area are stalls showing how to make herb boxes from wood off-cuts, local honey and face cream, vegan recipes and where to eat vegan locally, eco fabric printing, upcycling materials, cat food pouches, metal straws and an eco friendly flower shop.

“There are all kinds of stalls at the Fair and plenty of useful information including how to recycle items like half tins of paint, where to send used mascara wands and how to find alternatives to plastic,” added Marie.

Anyone who would like to have a stall or find out more about the event can contact Marie on 01942 833898 or 07749 525865.
