BOLTON Hospice is calling on people to wear their Christmas jumper with pride in return for a small donation to the charity.

‘Jolly Jumper Day’ will take place on Friday December 18 and everyone is being urged to dig out their best festive knit or to get creative with tinsel or bells.

A hospice spokesperson said: “Whether it be at work on a team Zoom meeting, the weekend family quiz or even exercising outside on a run! All we ask is you wear your jumper with pride in return for a small donation to Bolton Hospice this December.

“Your support will help to provide a memorable Christmas for our patients and their families this Christmas time.

“We cannot wait to see your photographs, which you can share with us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram or by sending them to us by email at fundraising@boltonhospice.org.”

Schools in the area are also being urged to do their bit by organising their own Jolly Jumper Day or Elf Run.

The spokesperson said: “If your school or class would like to hold your own Elf Run or Jolly Jumper day, please do get in touch.

“Dig out your favourite festive knit, choose a date which best suits you and ask that all pupils and staff wear their jolliest Christmas jumpers in return for a small donation to the hospice this December.

“Or choose a date and route of your own and gather your elves in their bubbles for a little festive sponsored fun run.

“It could be within their PE lessons, in designated areas on lunch, or even spread throughout the day to help with social distancing. We will provide each child with their very own elf hat and sponsor form and one lucky teacher will also be provided with a Santa Suit to lead the route!

“Please contact our Events Lead Grace at grace.wood@boltonhospice.org or call 07436 468 288.”
