A Royle Christmas - Local performer and Hospice hope to be Number 1

Supporter Roger Spencer Royle is hoping to help the hospice share ultimate festive cheer throughout December, with his charity single for Bolton Hospice ‘I wish it could be Christmas every single day’.

Known as Roger Spencer in music circles, Roger was born in Bolton where he has lived and worked all his life, from singing folk and skiffle music to performing in guitar bands, rock bands and cabaret acts, as a musician and writer for the record industry and the theatre, on local radio and on National television, he has been a constant part of the Bolton music scene, lately appearing with the local band The Replays.

Local performer Roger explained his reasons for supporting the hospice this Christmas

“Over the years I have known friends who have worked for Bolton Hospice and friends who have been cared for there, I have experienced first-hand the wonderful work they do at the hospice and it is a privilege to be a fundraiser for them.”

 

After getting in touch with the hospice’s fundraising team with the idea of a Christmas charity single, Roger shared his song with the team and they agreed that the catchy Christmas song was an wonderful idea and a fantastic festive way to raise vital funds for the local hospice.

“We are very honoured that Roger has chosen the hospice to benefit from the money raised from his wonderful Christmas song.  This year has been a very challenging year for the hospice and it is thanks to people like Roger that have helped to raise money on our behalf which has allowed us to keep caring for the people in our community throughout the pandemic. Thank you Roger!”

 

The song will be available to download at for just 99p at 9am on December 1st via iTunes and Apple Music, with all proceeds of the single donated to the hospice. Bolton Hospice will also be premiering on their Facebook page, the official video created for ‘I wish it could be Christmas every single day’ featuring nurses and staff from across the hospice showcasing their Christmas spirit!

The song’s release date on 1st December also marks ‘Giving Tuesday, an annual day of global giving. A day when everyone everywhere can do something to support the good causes that mean something to them.
