COUNCILLOR Sue Denton has been chosen as the next mayor elect of Horwich by town councillors.
It will be the second time that Sue will have held the office, she was previously town mayor in 2009-10.
She is the widow of Ken, who passed away in October last year. He was also mayor of the town on two occasions.
Sue will take over the civic role from Cllr Gordon Stone, who became mayor in May 2019 and who has continued in the role during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Cllr Steven Chadwick was chosen as the deputy mayor elect, having been deputy mayor for the previous two years.
