HORWICH Heritage Centre has unveiled its first exhibition in 18 months and it promises to be a winner with local football fans.
Football in Horwich features local teams and personalities from the early days of the game to the present day.
The exhibition covers all aspects of the game in the area, including Horwich RMI, Old Rivingtonians, Horwich’s amateur leagues, pub and work teams, women's football, junior football and local personalities.
The heritage centre has been hard at work gathering photographs, artefacts and memorabilia to be displayed along its current collection.
A centre spokesperson said: “By sharing our knowledge and memories, we hope to build up a comprehensive record of ‘the national game’ in Horwich.
