The popular Beehive Inn has just reopened its doors with a little help from some local VIPs - and it's better than ever before.

The pub - on the Beehive Roundabout in Horwich - was damaged by flooding in mid-May, just one day before lockdown restrictions in England eased.

But after a substantial six-figure investment by Greene King - the UK's leading pub company and brewer - it's reopening today with a completely new look, updated menu and brand-new Wacky Warehouse children's play centre - which is sure to be a hit with young families in Bolton and the surrounding areas.

The Mayor of Bolton Councillor Linda Thomas, her husband Len and local Horwich VIP Sam Ormrod and his son were there at the launch, to join the celebrations and, most importantly, to formally cut the ribbon.

Sam is the founder of Sam's Warriors - a local community group that helps people rediscover themselves through healthy lives and minds - by joining in with meetings, exercise and alternative therapies, such as yoga, running, walking, art and guided meditation. When the Beehive Inn asked for nominations for a very special local person to open the pub through a recent Facebook campaign, they were inundated with nominations for Horwich-based Sam, in recognition of the wonderful work he does within his community.

Inside the Beehive Inn, guests will enjoy a completely new look and feel. A blend of traditional and modern-day decor, it's a top-notch environment in which to catch-up with friends and family - whether that's for a tasty filling carvery, or when popping out for a drink or two, which will now be served from a brand-new bar.

A Greene King Pub & Carvery pub, the Beehive Inn will be serving its long-time favourites - including its famous traditional carvery, served fresh daily, with a choice of succulent 14-hour slow-roast meats, a selection of potatoes and seasonal vegetables - not to mentioned baked in pub Yorkshire puddings and unlimited gravy.

There are also a number of special offers on starters, as well as new additions - such as Bucket Loads of chicken wings and boneless breaded chicken - alongside a wide selection of traditional pub meals.

Upstairs, the newly renovated function room will provide the perfect backdrop for events and celebrations - whether that's birthdays, christenings, receptions and business meetings.

The pub is also set to continue to be the most popular choice for a pint amongst Horwich's sports fans - with its seven TVs that show all of the biggest fixtures and games.

And catering for those who are keen to continue socialising outdoors, outside seating has been significantly extended to accommodate more people.

Even better, the Beehive Inn is recruiting for a number of roles, including assistant manager, front of house, kitchen team and bar staff.

Caitlin McAllister, General Manager of the Beehive Inn, said: "We absolutely can't wait to reopen our doors to customers - it's been a very long six-month wait.

"We're thrilled to be coming back better than ever and we're looking forward to welcoming returning regulars - as well as many new guests, we hope."
