A SANTA Dash at the University of Bolton Stadium in Middlebrook has raised more than £1,200 to support the local warm spaces initiative.
The event was organised by Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC) and despite the cold and wet winter conditions, there was no dampening of spirits.
More than 80 Santas dashed around the perimeter of the stadium alongside club mascot Lofty the Lion, Wanderers manager Ian Evatt and chief executive Neil Hart.
Phil Mason, chief executive of BWitC, was also at the event and he said: “It was great to see all those who came to support the Santa Dash.
“I want to say a big thank you to all who braved the freezing temperatures to take part and support the work of Bolton Wanderers in the Community and help with the warm spaces initiative in Bolton.
“A special thank you to our first team manager Ian Evatt and CEO Neil Hart for taking part and leading the charge in promoting our work as a Club in the community.”
After the event, dashers were given complimentary tickets, medals and selection boxes donated by local superstore, Gee Tee’s in Westhoughton.
The money raised from the Santa Dash will be invested into BWitC’s ‘Warm Hubs’. They are local places where the most vulnerable in the community can visit to keep warm over the winter.
