The Light Cinema Bolton is holding a dementia-friendly showing of the masterpiece that is The Yellow Submarine Singalong, on September 6 at 1.15pm, with all tickets £5 and carers going free. The showing is open to all but will be adjusted to suit those with memory problems.
These screenings are programmed with the aim to improve the lives of people living with dementia and memory loss, and their friends and families. They provide fun, creative activities that brings back some fabulous memories for everyone watching.
There will be no adverts or trailers and the lighting will be slightly raised throughout the film. There will be an interval roughly half-way through for a comfort break.
Iceland Foods have provided light snacks for pre-screening refreshments plus during the interval.
Annabelle Luce, Assistant Manager said: “It isn’t very often you can see these classic films on the big screen, so we endeavour to make it happen. We aim to make them as accessible as possible for everyone to enjoy. We hope to see many of you there”
We will also be holding a general screening of the film on September 4 at 19:30 and have more classic films on the way with Vertigo in October, Some Like It Hot in November, White Christmas in December, The Apartment in January and To Catch a Thief in February.
